The “P” stood for “Pay It No Mind,” which is what Marsha would say in response to questions about her gender.
Marsha was one of the prime forces behind the Stonewall Uprising in 1969. Stonewall was a riot caused by years of police brutality inflicted upon the LGBTQIA community in NYC.
