Made to Order by the Designer

Michelle Rose is the proprietress of Spacedust, designer of this clothing collection, and singer of psych/garage-rock band Miss Jupiter.

All Michelle Rose garments are now made by hand by the designer herself. With 20+ years of experience crafting bespoke clothing for herself and others, Michelle's attention to detail and relentless drive to perfect her visions in physical form result in gorgeous pieces you'll treasure.

Besides a love of color and geometry, the focus is on long-lasting, high-quality construction and impeccable fit that supports your true style.

Some garments listed here are on sale or clearance and only available in select remaining sizes. All new designs from 2024 onwards will be made-to-order and released on a limited basis.

All pre-made clothing is marked in either traditional women's sizes, men's sizes, or our own house blend of traditional women's and men's sizes which we call unisex.  Use the size charts provided and select from what is offered for each clothing piece for your best fit.

Please don't hesitate to get in touch if we can help guide you to your size or tailor something to your body's unique needs.

Notes on Sizing

Designer Michelle Rose is known for encouraging individual gender expression through clothing, and has dreams of one day devising an all-inclusive sizing system.

Until then, please refer to the following size charts describing typical industry-standards for "Women's" bodies and "Men's" bodies. A lot of real people, even cisgender folks, don't match these sizes, but for ease of translation and lack of a better system, we'll be using these for now – select the scale you're used to and find the size you match with most.

Made To Order (MTO) pieces may be available for purchase in either range; or both; or simply Unisex. See the drop-down boxes in each product page for available options.

Ready To Ship (RTS) garments are generally only available in a few sizes, because there is no extra fabric on hand to make more.

Along with the variations in proportions as shown in the charts, "Women's" will have a softer shoulder and have a shorter length; "Men's" will be more broad in the shoulder and fall a bit longer. Wherever possible, you have the option to customize the length of a garment to your height range.

When in doubt, ask the designer! Michelle is always available for a sizing consultation, and can usually customize the fit to your unique proportions.

Returns & Exchanges

Return & Exchange Policy for MTO (Made To Order) Garments 

Your satisfaction with your purchase is my top priority.  If you’re not totally happy with your purchase of a Made-To-Order piece by Michelle Rose, there are three options for Exchange or Return. 

1. Made-To-Order garments can be exchanged for free for size adjustments.  Kindly request a return label within 7 days of delivery.  I’ll be in touch via email to discuss your needs, whether slight alterations are necessary or a different size altogether. 

2. You may also return a Made-To-Order garment for any reason, for store credit within 7 days of receipt, however the return shipping will be your responsibility.  Please inform me with 7 days of receipt via email of your intent to return an item, package it securely, and include insurance on the package. 

3. If you prefer a refund for a Made-To-Order garment, you must first email to notify of your intent to return an item within 7 days of delivery, purchase return shipping with insurance at your expense, and drop the package in the mail to ensure its on its way back within 7 days of that initial delivery to you.  Returns for refund are subject to a 15% restocking fee, based on the total initial order value, deducted from your refund. 

These policies are set in place to prevent abuse and costly, unnecessary work.  Please consider your sizing needs carefully, measure and double-check your measurements, and contact Michelle prior to ordering if you have any questions at all about how to select your size.  Unlike fast fashion, sustainable clothing is a serious business!
 
Returns & Exchanges for RTS (Ready To Ship) Clothing

Ready To Ship clothing is already made, has been discounted, and therefore excluded from the Return & Exchange Policy.  All RTS pieces are considered final sale and not eligible for exchange or return.

  • Shipping:

    • Please allow 1-2 days for shipping of existing (pre-made) garments


    • Made-to-order pieces may require 1-2 weeks before shipment


    • Orders over $100 (before tax) are eligible for free shipping within the US via the most economical option.


    • You may also choose expedited shipping at checkout.

  • Returns & Exchanges:

    It is my hope that this garment makes you feel amazing.  If it doesn't, I am happy to accept a return or exchange within seven (7) days of delivery.  Please follow the instructions within the order page in your account to initiate a return or exchange.  Because each item is made upon request in your specific size, restocking fees will apply. 


    In the event of a return, a 15% restocking fee will be deducted from your refund to help recoup shipping costs both to and from the destination (since they are included in US orders); payment processing fees (which are not refunded by payment processors); and handling.


    In the event of an exchange due to customer changing their mind, customer will be responsible for the shipping costs of the replacement item to its destination.


    Making custom clothing and selling it via the Internet is a difficult task and requires both maker and wearer to be cognizant of all expectations each holds of the other for a smooth & successful transaction. 


    I always do my absolute best to ensure you'll receive a high-quality, long lasting, beautiful garment that fits you comfortably – but if after receiving your order you are not 100% confident about your purchase, please get in touch so we can find a solution.
